Virals are often simple in their look and feel, and are always short. Running times generally range from :10 to 5:00. Virals are sometimes even constructed from “found” footage, but can certainly be elaborate and stylish if they entertain. Success is self-determined and always evident by easily tracked discreet views or “hits,” and once a brand is established as providing sufficiently irreverent, sexy, adorable, disgusting, or otherwise addictive videos, the likelihood that its future offerings will penetrate the online community into the millions goes up dramatically.
